Let me be perfectly honest- I'm not sure I can handle this project 365. I'm overwhelmed by just the thought of it! For one, how the heck am I going to have the time to post everyday?
With two small children (one who is on the Autism Spectrum), three dogs, a husband, and a house that is usually a disaster or being destroyed by the dogs and kids I think I may have officially lost my mind. But you never really know until you try. So the next 365 days will be us... the real us, documented. Here it goes... 1/365 Their favorite part of the day, bath time.

My husband is a teacher, so we are all a bit sad when summer vacation comes to an end. However, I love the images that I get each year as we put his classroom back in order. I get to see how much my munchkin (now munchkins!) have grown. For instance, I remember when Eric was crawling between the desk rows. This year with our new addition (baby Amelia) we start all over again. And it just so happened that she chose to roll over for the very first time in her Daddy's classroom. Thank goodness I grabbed my camera before we left home!
Amelia is already six months old and trying her first food! In keeping with my promise to myself to document our everyday moments (and make sure that I am included in some of the pictures), here is our little one getting her first taste of peaches and rice cereal. Don't forget to document your everyday moments too!
XO- Melissa She's here! She's here! Our beautiful daughter is finally here! Weighing in at 7 pounds and 3 ounces and measuring at 20 inches she is a little piece of perfection. I spent my few days in the hospital taking lots of pictures (and even setting up the timer so I could be in some as well).
I am taking my time to heal from surgery, but will be back to work in April after the doctor clears me for duty. Until then I am going to soak up the love with my hubby and our littles and enjoy time focusing on our family. Such a beautiful family! I met up with the Garnier's at Woodward Park during the golden hour and captured the loveliness below...
It's been an amazing year for my little photography business. To my clients, thank you for letting me capture your memories! You have allowed my to bring my dream to life and for that I am forever grateful. Here is a selection of some of my favorites... coming soon will be The Best of 2013- part two with my personal favorites for the year.
I recently saw a group of photographers sharing letters to their son's. I thought it was such a wonderful idea, there are so many things that happen day to day that I want to remember and mean to write down, but forget or get too busy. As a photographer we are paid to capture other people's memories; however, I know I spend a majority of my time chronicling the day to day life of my own family. I am going to try my best to write at least one letter a month. Even though he is almost two (how did that happen?!) I would like to start at the beginning and the moment we first met... To my sweet boy, I still remember the day I found out I was carrying you. In my heart I knew I was pregnant, but I wanted to make sure before I got too excited. I went to the doctor and she confirmed. I couldn't wait to get outside to call your Dad! You were my dream come true, I was going to be a Momma. The pregnancy progressed and I was sure that you were a girl... and then came the ultrasound when we found out your sex. Your Dad saw it first, when the tech set the wand on my tummy you were not modest at all; we were having a boy and I was speechless. Fast forward to October, we had decided on your name, set up your room, gone to birthing classes and you decided that you were going to be difficult and stay in a breech position. The c-section was scheduled 3 days after my birthday; you were the best belated birthday gift that I could ever ask for. I was a Momma... your Momma and you were perfect. I am eternally grateful that your Daddy took so many pictures of the all these moments so that I can now look back and see what I could not that day. Someday soon you will see all the pictures and understand all the love I feel for you. All my love, Momma Photo by Stephen Pointer (my hubby)
Oh Em Gee this little girl is adorable! Had so much taking pictures of her last evening (along with her Mom and Dad).
Yesterday I met Georgina and Gustavo out in the orchards for a family session at sunset. Their beautiful little family was lots of fun to shoot. I met Georgina right before she gave birth to her little Princess back in October and I was very excited to see her again. I'm still editing the session, but due to some problems with Facebook I wanted to give her a few more sneak peeks here on the blog. I'll be posting Allyson's 6 month pictures in a separate blog later today.
Saturday afternoon was spent with these two cuties. Both girls were adorable and very easy to work with; days like these are the reason that I love photography!
