One of our favorite places to visit, especially in the Spring when wildflowers are out and everything is blooming. Wonder Valley is located just east of Fresno in the Sierra Nevada foothills. They have free-range cattle and other animals wandering through the valley. Our boy loved being able to run through the field and down to the stream, our daughter had fun investigating nature. It was a much needed retreat for our little family; we're planning a picnic during Spring Break.

For as long as I can remember holidays have meant going to Grandma and Grandpa Rodriguez's house. They live at the base of the foothills leading to Sequoia National Park. I've always loved it at their house. As a child, my sisters, cousins and I played in the plum orchard and orange groves; we looked for treasure among the rocks by the railroad tracks; drove the beloved "Tug" tractor for fun; and drew our houses in the dirt between our Grandparent's house and our Grandfathers woodworking shed. It is a happy place full of memories and I am so happy to see a new generation enjoying it. My children now run and play with their cousins. And although some of the views have changed, the love is there... just as it always has been.
It may sound a little silly but I still get excited when someone sees something special like I do in an image I've taken. The photo below was featured in the Top 10 over at Love Photographs Beautifully. It was one of those instances where I was on my way home and the world around me made me stop and pull the car over to get a picture so I could remember it. I love how the sky looks almost painted on. You can see the rest of the images and the winner here. So go check them out and have a great week!
