I was so honored to be a part of Rachel and Tyson's evening. We met up before they went to dinner (pizza!) and took pictures of the two of them.

When I initially met Marc and Brittany they stressed that they wanted their day documented with as many candid moments as possible. As someone that loves documentary type of work, I was over the moon for this opportunity and couldn't wait for their big day. They exchanged vows at the beautiful Nonini Winery in Fresno County and it couldn't have been a more perfect day. Both the bride's and groom's families were so wonderful and genuine and the entire day was about the blending of two families. Congratulations to the Armstrongs!

Oh, how time flies! Our little Amelia is about to turn one year old. I took her to the park last week and got a few shots of our precious girl and she braved the swings for the first time and loved it.
Another beautiful event by Laura Ferrick of Eclectic Affairs! The Historic Millerton Courthouse at Millerton Lake was a gorgeous backdrop for a relaxed wedding and reception.
She's here! She's here! Our beautiful daughter is finally here! Weighing in at 7 pounds and 3 ounces and measuring at 20 inches she is a little piece of perfection. I spent my few days in the hospital taking lots of pictures (and even setting up the timer so I could be in some as well).
I am taking my time to heal from surgery, but will be back to work in April after the doctor clears me for duty. Until then I am going to soak up the love with my hubby and our littles and enjoy time focusing on our family.
This session is incredibly personal and I am just bursting to share it! This last Mother's Day my husband and I got a wonderful gift and surprise... We found out that we would soon be Grandparents! When my step-son and daughter-in-law told us we were ecstatic... little did we know that we would soon be sharing some similar news with them a couple of months later. Yes, we found out that I am also expecting. Much like a made for t.v. movie I will have not only a new grandson but also a daughter born within a month of each other.
I made Alicia promise to have maternity pictures taken- even if it wasn't by me (they live in Los Angeles). I think it's such an amazing time in one's life, and you really need to make sure to have pictures that you can look back on and share with your kids. When they came to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday with us we went out and shot these. I will be forever grateful that I got to share this time with the two of them. And I can't wait to meet their little boy!
"Being a parent means loving your children more than you've ever loved yourself."
On a beautiful day in November, Victor and Michele said their vows and blended two families into one. The rain the night before gave us a beautiful sky and light to usher in their new life. Congrats to the happy family and a lifetime of blessings for all of you!
I knew this day would come, but why did it have to come so fast? My son's golden locks are just a memory. At two years old his hair had just gotten too long for him. I saw him fidget with it because it was on his neck and in his eyes.As much as I loved those curls I knew it was time to get them trimmed. People were surprised that my husband- a military vet- had allowed his son's hair to be so long. But just like me, he was holding onto those last days of our little boy being a baby.... Many thanks to the ever so patient hairdresser that got us all through this!
Waiting his turn for a haircut
Putting up a fight right from the start...
Momma brought a sucker to try to pacify him through the trauma
Asking a 2 year old to sit still is one thing; but then pulling at his hair and using scissors so close is another.
As good as it's gonna get this time. Not a clean cut, but not too shabby for a wiggle-worm!
Thirteen years ago this beautiful girl came into my life. Her Mom, my cousin, chose me to be one of her godmother's (she has two). I have been so blessed to watch her grow up before my eyes. She is smart, she is funny, and so much more. Happy belated birthday, Kaiti-bug, I'm glad we finally were able to get this session in. With Love, Auntie Liss
Two years have gone by so fast!
I swear that taking pictures of other people's kids is WAY easier than getting a good one of my own. Mainly because other kids find me amusing, while mine has seen the song and dance and silliness and is hoping for a quick escape so he can go exploring.
This "little" guy is always looking for adventure... and treasures (which are usually the rocks he brings to me to keep for him). He is all boy. We spent most of the evening watching him kick up dirt clouds and get as dirty as possible, all while trying to avoid me and my camera at all cost (darn Mamarazzi!)
Hi, I'm Melissa. I am a wife, mother, step-mother, Gigi (step-grandma) and a photographer. I started out as the family member always asked to bring my camera along and it has turned into my life dream. I just love being able to capture moments for others that they can always cherish. This is my little corner to share my sessions, projects, and a little piece of our daily life. Thanks for stopping by!
