Oh those terrible two's! We have been over our heads in mischief lately. In the past few weeks we've had incidents with toothpaste, paint, spices and as pictured above... lipstick. No matter how many ways we "child-proof" our home, he always seems to find a way into something messy. As you can see above he was EXTREMELY proud of himself. Toddlers... keeping parents on their toes since the beginning of time. Have a great week everyone!

I woke up this morning to fantastic news! One of my photographs was picked for the top ten over at film mama! Shot a few years back while on vacation in Los Angeles it is the Santa Monica Pier at sunset. I shot it with my Pentax K1000 (my lucky Penny) that I've had since my first year of college.
I love the ladies over at film mama because they remind me of why I fell in love with photography in the first place and have convinced me to dabble in film once again. So go check out the top 10, because there are some truly awesome photographers there and I am so honored to be included with them! I know I mention this quite a bit, but I am ever so thankful for my photography business because of the friendships that have come out of it. This past weekend I was excited to see a former classmate from high school and meet his beautiful family. The boys are adorable... Gabriel didn't mind when I held him so everyone could get situated and Nicky even gave me a big hug goodbye. Working with people like the Alcala's makes my heart happy!
He can't choose just one, so he tries to carry as many as he can. It's hilarious to watch this because every time one drops and he tries to pick it up... then more drop. He'll figure it out soon enough, I guess. Have a great week everyone!
I'm finally caught up on my Project 52! Yesterday our little guy wanted nothing to do with me... it was all about Dad. He ran away from me after his bath. I'm bummed I cut off their feet, but I was dealing with the daily chaos of dogs and toys all over the floor and this is what I got... one day he'll hate me for this. Hope everyone has a wonderful week!
He loves to "hide" from me during the day... he's getting better at it as the days go by. Happy Friday everyone!
Earlier this week I finally ordered a print that I had been thinking about for the last six months. I kept putting it off unsure if it was "the one" I wanted, this all changed when I had the picture up on the computer and my husband mentioned that it was one of his favorites of our son. That cemented it and I'm now (impatiently) waiting for the 20x24 to get here! Having your images on your computer or a CD/DVD is great, but they really were meant to be printed and placed in your home. Would you buy art just to keep it hidden in a closet? Of course not! Portraits are art! So I'm telling you right now... go print out your pictures and enjoy them on a daily basis. If you are a previous client I have a wonderful professional lab and I would be happy to help you. My lab has many options for you to choose from: glossy, matte, metallic, and linen papers or you could choose to order a canvas. Why would you want a professional lab? Because the lab I use stays true to the colors (some of the labs at chain store labs add tones that make skin appear to have an orange or green tint). I offer print packages or you can order them a la carte. Whether you choose to order your prints through me or go out on your own to do it, please just print them. You won't be sorry!
So excited to announce that one of my images has been featured over at Colorvale! The image of my little guy and his bestest buddy Lulu Belle was one of the runner-up's.
I'm running behind. Last week I never got a chance to blog my Project 52... my husband hurt his back again and that had me pulling double duty. But here it is ,my little Buzz Lightyear. He likes to dump out all his cars and use the container as a helmet and then runs around the house. It's inventive and probably the closest thing we have to a space helmet in the house. It always makes me laugh and entertains him for hours.
Week 10's picture will be up shortly and then I'll be caught up! |
