I'm a little behind in posting this, but the holidays and visiting family just kept me from the computer! This beautiful family is a perfect example of the kind of family that I have, kind of a modern-day "Yours, Mine and Ours". I had so much fun with the kids because they all knew exactly what they wanted to do in their portraits... and because they are part of my family they are not shy! The picture below was at the end of the session and to me it shows their connection to each other as a family.

Today I had the opportunity to see and photograph an old friend and her family. We met in the Tower District in Fresno and I had a ball with her boys, especially her middle child. They were full of energy and you can clearly see how much they love one another. Thanks to the Benavides family for a wonderful session!
So here I am... starting a blog for my photography page. This blogging is a bit new to me so I hope everyone will be patient. My name is Melissa Pointer and I love to take pictures. Originally, I had planned on being a print journalist, traveling the world and meeting interesting people. However, I found that you don't necessarily have to travel the world to meet some characters! I live in a small town in the San Joaquin Valley with my husband and son and take pictures of my growing boy every chance I can get (mainly when he slows down and lets me). Our last session with him was right before his first birthday (as seen below). I'm one of those Mom's that likes to have a theme, we did "Vintage Cowboy", mainly because I love all things vintage and he already had the rocking horse for pictures! I hope you will follow along with me in my adventures.... one click at a time.

AuthorHi, I'm Melissa. I am a wife, mother, step-mother, Gigi (step-grandma) and a photographer. I started out as the family member always asked to bring my camera along and it has turned into my life dream. I just love being able to capture moments for others that they can always cherish. This is my little corner to share my sessions, projects, and a little piece of our daily life. Thanks for stopping by! Archives
