He loves to "hide" from me during the day... he's getting better at it as the days go by. Happy Friday everyone!

So excited to announce that one of my images has been featured over at Colorvale! The image of my little guy and his bestest buddy Lulu Belle was one of the runner-up's.
I'm running behind. Last week I never got a chance to blog my Project 52... my husband hurt his back again and that had me pulling double duty. But here it is ,my little Buzz Lightyear. He likes to dump out all his cars and use the container as a helmet and then runs around the house. It's inventive and probably the closest thing we have to a space helmet in the house. It always makes me laugh and entertains him for hours.
Week 10's picture will be up shortly and then I'll be caught up! So this last week we all had a cold and were feeling really cruddy. After a long day with my boy, my husband told me to go relax in a hot tub for a bit. I came out to see that, unbeknownst to my husband, our son had "redecorated" his room. I shook my head and walked past it, too tired to care at that moment. When I walked back through the house I found this... All of them in the room trying to pick it up a bit. I realized how lucky I am, even with life's little disasters I get to spend my days with these two (and the dogs too). Life is not about perfection it is about the mess that you go through along the way. Have a wonderful week!
My kid doesn't seem to fear anything. This week we made a trip up north to the Dublin/ Pleasanton area to visit a friend. We stopped at a playground to get rid of some pent up energy and he noticed some older boys climbing on the rocks. Being my child, he ran full throttle towards them and made his way about half-way up before turning to look at me (I was climbing up behind him in case he slipped). I told him maybe we should try the slide instead; for once he listened to me. This new climbing phase is going to add some more gray... I can feel it! Have a wonderful week!
My little guy is going through another growth spurt. Suddenly he can reach lots of things on counters, turn on light switches and all sorts of other fun stuff. He is no longer a baby (well, he'll forever be MY baby) and well into his toddler stage and he is always busy.
I've made it to week five! I hope I can keep this up. This weeks images are a constant theme in our house. I'm in another room cleaning, dusting, bathing... whatever; and in runs my naked child. This kid hates clothes. Drives me crazy! And now to go find his clothes. Have a wonderful week!
70 degrees? In January? While the rest of the country seems to be suffering from cold, snow and wind we have had nothing but warm, dry weather. We've been going to the park quite a bit. This last visit it was all about the dirt from the gopher mounds. Dirt + little boy = fun
This weekend we will celebrate five years of life with our dog Lulu Belle. She was a rescue that a friend from work found and we decided to give her a forever home. She came to us battered with lots of scars, our only guess is that someone was not very kind to her. At first she had some aggression issues with our other dog, Billy, but he is such a gentle giant that he won her over and they soon became fast friends. We worried about her while I was pregnant; wondering how she would react to the baby. All our worries subsided after a few weeks. She is his dog now. She is always close by, whether he is awake or asleep. One of her favorite places to be is under his bed where she can watch him play, but be out of the way where she won't get stepped on or tripped over. Earlier this week I caught the two of them in his room spending some quiet time together (please excuse the mess... actually this is pretty clean for him!) and I thought this is the picture I want defining the love these two have for one another. And then nap time on Friday came. I do what we do each day, turn off all the noise and lay down (usually on the couch because he prefers to snuggle with his Momma) and I slowly sing him to sleep. Like I said this is our daily ritual, and usually our three dogs join us and find a place to lay down as well. Well on Friday Lulu had already made a nest on the couch and we chose the spot right next to her. As I sang my lullabies Lulu began to snore and Eric followed. Below is the picture I snapped of the two of them in dreamland. So a big happy birthday to our Lulu. Our lives and our family would not be the same without you.
Our last day of Christmas vacation. Three weeks of fun have gone by and tomorrow it is back to reality... Ugh.
Since we were out today we decided to stop by the park and let the little guy run around and tire himself out for a nap (Score! He's sleeping as I type.) This week I couldn't make a decision for which photo to post for my project 52, Instead I chose the series of him running toward me. I love all his silly faces as he makes his way closer, giggling the entire way; and his Daddy in the background watching over him. Have a wonderful week! |
