My husband is a teacher, so we are all a bit sad when summer vacation comes to an end. However, I love the images that I get each year as we put his classroom back in order. I get to see how much my munchkin (now munchkins!) have grown. For instance, I remember when Eric was crawling between the desk rows. This year with our new addition (baby Amelia) we start all over again. And it just so happened that she chose to roll over for the very first time in her Daddy's classroom. Thank goodness I grabbed my camera before we left home!

Amelia is already six months old and trying her first food! In keeping with my promise to myself to document our everyday moments (and make sure that I am included in some of the pictures), here is our little one getting her first taste of peaches and rice cereal. Don't forget to document your everyday moments too!
XO- Melissa I love Senior shoots. We always have fun. I met up with Aly, her Mom and her best friend, Jackie, at Woodward Park during a beautiful golden evening recently for her senior session. The girls share a special bond- they have been best friends since the age of four and plan to walk together at graduation (much like my best friend and I did so many years ago.) The results of her session are as lovely as she is (both inside and out).
I am a couple weeks behind with my project 52. Pregnancy and motherhood just limits my time lately to get anything done. Priorities are to worry about the kiddos, hubby and house first and business later. However, it doesn't mean I stop taking pictures! I just haven't had a moment to sit and blog about them. I am going to attempt to catch up because life is just getting busier and busier by the day!
This was from a week ago. I came out of the back of the house and my little one was having a snack... and sharing it with his favorite pooch. The picture is dark but it was evening and the I was just trying to make sure to get the moment. These two are like peas and carrots and I love that my son is growing up with the love of his dogs. The best thing about having a husband who is a school teacher is that we get at least a month of summer vacation together. Eric loves having his Dad around the house... basically I'm invisible right now. This image was also featured on "My Beautifully Chaotic Lifestyle" blog for the week ending 7/17/14. It may sound a little silly but I still get excited when someone sees something special like I do in an image I've taken. The photo below was featured in the Top 10 over at Love Photographs Beautifully. It was one of those instances where I was on my way home and the world around me made me stop and pull the car over to get a picture so I could remember it. I love how the sky looks almost painted on. You can see the rest of the images and the winner here. So go check them out and have a great week!
I'm pretty sure that he can figure out that the weekend is coming up. By Friday night he is sick of me and is all about spending time with his Dad. This last weekend was one a bonus weekend, a three day holiday, so that meant even MORE time with Dad! This was their Saturday nap (our dog Billy joined them). Although they are just snapshots, these are the moments that I want to always remember.
Last week was H-O-T. One hundred degree weather in May is never a good thing. My little guy undressed as often as possible. Some days I lost count of how many times I had to go on a search of his clothes! The photo was after a nap, I was in the backyard working on a project and this is what I saw peeking out the back door. The hardest part was trying not to laugh as he flashed his charming smile my way. Have a wonderful week and stay cool everyone!
