Eric and Coco have classic sibling rivalry. She tolerates him... and only because if she doesn't, she gets into trouble! I just happen to grab my camera when Eric was trying to pet Coco as she slept. Our little princess does not like being disturbed (as you can tell) and snapped at him right as I snapped the picture. She didn't hurt him, it was just a "warning shot". Have a wonderful week!
I wish I could bottle up his happiness at times like these. The laugh, the smile, the giggles... this is the greatness of being two. The only thing needed to make a day perfect is the sunshine and a swing.
He can't choose just one, so he tries to carry as many as he can. It's hilarious to watch this because every time one drops and he tries to pick it up... then more drop. He'll figure it out soon enough, I guess. Have a great week everyone!
Earlier this week I finally ordered a print that I had been thinking about for the last six months. I kept putting it off unsure if it was "the one" I wanted, this all changed when I had the picture up on the computer and my husband mentioned that it was one of his favorites of our son. That cemented it and I'm now (impatiently) waiting for the 20x24 to get here! Having your images on your computer or a CD/DVD is great, but they really were meant to be printed and placed in your home. Would you buy art just to keep it hidden in a closet? Of course not! Portraits are art! So I'm telling you right now... go print out your pictures and enjoy them on a daily basis. If you are a previous client I have a wonderful professional lab and I would be happy to help you. My lab has many options for you to choose from: glossy, matte, metallic, and linen papers or you could choose to order a canvas. Why would you want a professional lab? Because the lab I use stays true to the colors (some of the labs at chain store labs add tones that make skin appear to have an orange or green tint). I offer print packages or you can order them a la carte. Whether you choose to order your prints through me or go out on your own to do it, please just print them. You won't be sorry!
So this last week we all had a cold and were feeling really cruddy. After a long day with my boy, my husband told me to go relax in a hot tub for a bit. I came out to see that, unbeknownst to my husband, our son had "redecorated" his room. I shook my head and walked past it, too tired to care at that moment. When I walked back through the house I found this... All of them in the room trying to pick it up a bit. I realized how lucky I am, even with life's little disasters I get to spend my days with these two (and the dogs too). Life is not about perfection it is about the mess that you go through along the way. Have a wonderful week!
70 degrees? In January? While the rest of the country seems to be suffering from cold, snow and wind we have had nothing but warm, dry weather. We've been going to the park quite a bit. This last visit it was all about the dirt from the gopher mounds. Dirt + little boy = fun
This weekend we will celebrate five years of life with our dog Lulu Belle. She was a rescue that a friend from work found and we decided to give her a forever home. She came to us battered with lots of scars, our only guess is that someone was not very kind to her. At first she had some aggression issues with our other dog, Billy, but he is such a gentle giant that he won her over and they soon became fast friends. We worried about her while I was pregnant; wondering how she would react to the baby. All our worries subsided after a few weeks. She is his dog now. She is always close by, whether he is awake or asleep. One of her favorite places to be is under his bed where she can watch him play, but be out of the way where she won't get stepped on or tripped over. Earlier this week I caught the two of them in his room spending some quiet time together (please excuse the mess... actually this is pretty clean for him!) and I thought this is the picture I want defining the love these two have for one another. And then nap time on Friday came. I do what we do each day, turn off all the noise and lay down (usually on the couch because he prefers to snuggle with his Momma) and I slowly sing him to sleep. Like I said this is our daily ritual, and usually our three dogs join us and find a place to lay down as well. Well on Friday Lulu had already made a nest on the couch and we chose the spot right next to her. As I sang my lullabies Lulu began to snore and Eric followed. Below is the picture I snapped of the two of them in dreamland. So a big happy birthday to our Lulu. Our lives and our family would not be the same without you.
Our last day of Christmas vacation. Three weeks of fun have gone by and tomorrow it is back to reality... Ugh.
Since we were out today we decided to stop by the park and let the little guy run around and tire himself out for a nap (Score! He's sleeping as I type.) This week I couldn't make a decision for which photo to post for my project 52, Instead I chose the series of him running toward me. I love all his silly faces as he makes his way closer, giggling the entire way; and his Daddy in the background watching over him. Have a wonderful week! I take pictures of my boy as much as I can, but this year I will attempt a 52 week project of him. I will do my best to document our everyday adventures and if I am successful I will try a 365 project next year (but I'm not quite ready to take on that challenge quite yet!) So here he is at our favorite park... getting WAY too big too fast! I thank God every day for making me his Momma.
