I was so happy we could squeeze this session in this year. Cheryl, Josh and I have cousins in common, so we grew up seeing each other at family gatherings. I was so excited to meet their families and capture memories for all of them. Thanks for making the drive to meet me, I hope you love your images as much as I do!

Thirteen years ago this beautiful girl came into my life. Her Mom, my cousin, chose me to be one of her godmother's (she has two). I have been so blessed to watch her grow up before my eyes. She is smart, she is funny, and so much more. Happy belated birthday, Kaiti-bug, I'm glad we finally were able to get this session in. With Love, Auntie Liss
The biggest compliment for me is repeat clients. I loved meeting the entire Villa family for this session. The kids were so much fun! We had an impromptu lesson on smiling for one of them and they thought it would be lots of fun to climb the trees. Thank you to the Villa family for braving the cold weather to get your session in this year!
Saturday was beautiful... beautiful and COLD! The Delgado family braved the elements for a quick family session. Many thanks to Ana, John and Abigail for being such great sports in the cool weather! I loved seeing the girls again (and meeting John).
Time really does fly by. When I moved back to California in 2000, Dominic was just five years old. Now, he is in his Senior year of high school and making plans for college. I am so incredibly proud of the person he has become.
I love my job for many reasons; no set dress code, I can control my work hours, I can edit in my pj's, I don't get in trouble for having a glass of wine while I'm returning emails and editing in the evening... the list goes and on. But what I enjoy the most are the people I meet, the friendships I make, and old friends that I get a chance to see once again. I had the pleasure of seeing a former high school team mate and his family this last weekend. We wandered around the local community college and had lots of fun.
Baby bumps are beautiful, at least to me they are. The miracle of a new life growing inside amazes me. There is also something about the mother as well, their beauty multiplies. I've known Liz and Mitch for five years now and they are basically family. Getting to capture the two of them before the arrival of their little girl was so special to me. We had lots of fun and I think it's pretty apparent in the photos how much these two love each other and how much they already love their little girl. Many thanks to the two of them for letting me be a part of it.
Two years have gone by so fast!
I swear that taking pictures of other people's kids is WAY easier than getting a good one of my own. Mainly because other kids find me amusing, while mine has seen the song and dance and silliness and is hoping for a quick escape so he can go exploring. This "little" guy is always looking for adventure... and treasures (which are usually the rocks he brings to me to keep for him). He is all boy. We spent most of the evening watching him kick up dirt clouds and get as dirty as possible, all while trying to avoid me and my camera at all cost (darn Mamarazzi!) Get ready for a Halloween cuteness overload! Mickey and Dracula (aka Malachi and Payton) melted my heart yesterday. At first they weren't too sure about the outfits (and the lady with the camera) but we got them to giggle and smile a bit. Now I can't wait for Halloween to get here so I can see all the other kiddos dressed up!

AuthorHi, I'm Melissa. I am a wife, mother, step-mother, Gigi (step-grandma) and a photographer. I started out as the family member always asked to bring my camera along and it has turned into my life dream. I just love being able to capture moments for others that they can always cherish. This is my little corner to share my sessions, projects, and a little piece of our daily life. Thanks for stopping by! Archives
